Many possibilities: This can be due to eczema or atopic dermatitis, or pityriasis rosea, psoriasis, tinea versicolor, or other skin conditions. You can try otc topical steroids (cortisone cream) or antihistamines to see if they help. Then see your doctor or dermatologist for diagnosis and proper treatment.
