Perhaps: Mucinex (guaifenesin) is supposed to loosen mucus and is worth a try but in general it is not terribly effective. Use plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) for this, the dm is for cough. Saline nasal spray may work as well. Also consider reflux which can give this complaint.
