Usually: Yes it's not unusual for there to be swelling in the skin where the chalasion was located. Often there is a tissue reaction around the gland that is blocked creating a rather firm feel to the skin. This may take several weeks to normalize. Warm compresses are fine. Remember if things are getting worse, ie, more swelling, pain, change in vision, or double vision, seek eye md help.
