I recently noticed my uvula goes to one side, im a smoker and i'm worried it might be a sign or symptom of something worse.

Having an excentrically positioned uvula is not a cause for concern, but smoking is. There are far reaching longterm effects from smoking which a thoughtful person would not want to ignor. I suggest bringng these subjects up at your next physical exam. Read this: https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/health_effects/index.htm

Hello. As an ENT specialist, if I see a uvula that is not midline, I often try to see why it is off midline. Did you have your tonsils removed? If so, that often will cause the uvula to shift due to the surgery and healing. An abscess is another reason, but you would feel pretty sick if that was the case. I agree with the discontinuation of smoking and see your ENT for further evaluation.
