Degenerative Disc: Certainly, many active people have degenerative discs, in fact it is a process of aging. Many people with degenerative discs are pain free. Activity should be predicated on how you feel and not on an x-ray or MRI result for ddd. Exercise is also great for your back.

Degenerative disc: Degenerative disc disease should not be a reason to become a couch potatoe! just be careful, but keep your motion pattern going, no heavy lifting, and core strengthening to keep yourself as active as you can be. Keep weight down and do not smoke.
