He's a little young: For standing. At 7-8 mos., it's typical for babies to do " jumping jacks" when placed in a stand. Gross motor or large muscle skills progress head-to-toe the 1st year. Getting to a sit & up on all fours for crawling are 6-8 mo. Milestones; pulling to a kneel, then to a stand are @ 9-10 mo. Having said that, asymmetry should be checked by his doctor to rule out hip dysplasia or a neurological issue.
