Doctor time: Issues with tightening of the spinal canal in his lower back, among other things. Please get him checked.

Get evaluated: At his age, there are many things to cause this. What medications is he on? Does he smoke? Does he have cholesterol issues? He could have low potassium, low magnesium and other electrolyte problems. He may have significant undiagnosed periperal vascular disease. He may need to do some stretching exercises to help. I would start with a good physical exam, lab and evaluation by pcp.

He can see a doctor: To find out why it is happening. More info is needed. It could be coming from his back as he does intense labor, if he is on a cholesterol lowering medication that could be the issue. He could have a vitamin insufficiency, he may have a vascular situation. He should really see a doctor.
