Dry socket: You have an infection and thus loss the clots. When this happen, the bone socket is exposed and thus is termed dry socket. Dry socket can be treated with dry socket meds placed into the socket and antimicrobial therapy (usually Clindamycin 300mg). Followed up 7 days would be recommended.

Possible infection: Contact the person that removed the tooth as soon as possible. You may have a piece of the tooth remaining in the socket or an infection of the jaw. Continue all antibiotic medication unless told to stop by the prescribing physician or their staff.
