Difficult question: The meds for pcos are determined by the symptoms and the labs, as well as your personal goals. In general, if you want nl periods, birth control, wt loss, and metformin are usually used. If pregnancy is your goal, a med like Clomid (clomiphene) might be used instead of birth control. Try to lose wt, but talk to your gyn to come up with a plan.

Depends: If you are asking about medications for the pcos, ocps are most commonly used. If your concern is for your weight, there are no medications that are very effective for weight loss. Decreasing calorie intake is the only effective means to lose weight and keep it off.
