You handle different: Despite same amount of fluid intake, you may be taking more fluids in food like soup, broth, stew, or fruits. Also, your friend may be losing more fluids otherwise like more perspiration or urinating less frequently but more volume with each void. The difference is not due to kidney disease, unless one of you has obvious swelling. It, possibly, could be due to a different bladder capacity.

Overactive bladder: With no pain and frequency, oab is a possibility. Look for triggers: avoid chocolate, tobacco, caffeine, alcohol, peppermint, spicy foods, and splenda. Limit fluid intake at night to help sleep. If these measures don't help, then ask your family doctor about Detrol la or vesicare (solifenacin) as a way to cut down on bladder spasms that cause these frequent bathroom visits.
