No: The closure of the soft spot does not define craniosynostosis.It can be undetectable in size or as large as a grapefruit and the kid turn out fine.It is the behavior of the skull bones define a problem.If they fuse, not just close in , a person will have a ridge develop at the point of fusion and abnormalities develop in the shape of the head, that is craniosynostosis.
