Nervous breakdown: Nervous breakdown is not a medical term -- but yes, it's possible to go psychotic, out of contact with consensual reality. Yes, there is help for it. If you feel you are in this situation, please see your doctor asap. There are many possible causes, and these need to be evaluated so you get the correct kind of help.

No: Loosing mind is a colloquial term used to signify mental turmoil, one does not literally loose mind or brain in a nervous breakdown. There is excellent help for it, get a referral for psychiatric evaluation.
