Yes: Infection of a large baceous cyst can lead to frank abscess, cellulitis and severe body infection. Warm compress therapy to a small sebaceous cyst with wet warm towel, 2-3 times per day along with aleve (naproxen) maybe helpful for minor irritation with sebaceous cyst. Larger sebaceous cyst with gross infection require surgeon review and possible drainage. Present to the emergency department for evaluation.
