A member asked:

I have some type of stomach virus. why does my upper abdomen hurt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stomach pain: Stomach pain is usually felt in the center of the abdomen right below the ribcage. Gastritis is one of the causes. If you've barely eaten or have had vomiting, this might be the case. There will be chest wall muscle pain if you have vomited.
