Your body can : 'forget' how to go to sleep & there can be a psychological dependence. You can try gradually decreasing the nyquil dose over several weeks but you really need to talk to your doctor for several reasons. Nyquil has acetomenophem in it & you need to make sure your liver is ok. You need to explore why you needed the nyquil. You will probably need help & perhaps another safer med to help you sleep.
