A member asked:

Should blood pressure always be taking at heart level? mine reads high if taken below it and reads low if above the heart. doc says mine is high.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Yes, blood pressure should always be taken at heart level. Devices that measure blood pressure from the wrist are usually calibrated to compensate for the difference. However, the difference between the readings is usually not that much. Even if you have borderline hypertension, it's a good idea to exercise reguarly to lower your blood pressure.
