Teen bipolar: While teens surely can suffer full-blown bipolar disorder, even normal teens have big mood swings. Childhood bipolar disorder is therefore somewhat controversial: some say it's under-diagnosed & treated, while others say we are too quick to medicate behavior that is normal, or treatable with psychotherapy. Your son should be evaluated by a child psychiatrist. See http://tinyurl.Com/7ygtu3e.

Bipolar teen?: I can recommend you go to the website for the american academy of child and adolescent psychiatry. There, you will find a section called facts for families. It has lots of information which can help. www.aacap.org. Good luck.
