Actively control it: Any cognitive behavioral therapist can teach you cognitive and relaxation techniques to manage this. Reassuring positive (rational and realistic) thoughts in conjunction with diaphragmatic breathing are main ways to manage this. These attacks cannot kill you though you may feel horrible. Reassuring yourself that you can ride it out with relaxation breathing are effective skills to learn and use.
