Different: The patellar tendon is a band of flexible fibrous tissue that attaches the lower part of your knee cap ("patella") to the top front of your tibia, the leg bone just below your knee. The knee joint is behind the patella and is where the tibia and the femur (thigh bone) come together in a kind of a hinge.
