Probably not: This condition is due to overgrowth of certain bacteria in the vagina and is treated with antibiotics. See a gynecologist.

Not very effective: Bacterial vaginosis changes the ph(acidity/alkalinity) of the vagina. It is usually treated with local vaginal prescription creams or suppositories, and oral antibiotics. Otc products can make worse the infection and are not usually very effective.

How can I get rid of recurrent bacterial vaginosis?

Persistence: Bacterial vaginosis can be chronic and recurrent, but I have never seen a patient who couldn't ultimately be controlled. First, be sure the diagnosis is correct by sending off sensitive testing. Secondly, when controlled, treat with a preventative, like weekly Metrogel or boric acid. Thirdly, try to support the healthy bacteria, lactobacillus, in the vagina with healthy diet and possibly supp.
