I have had a headache on and off for about one week now. my doctor (pcp) believes it is a migraine. i have htn is imitrex (sumatriptan) reasonable.

Imitrex (sumatriptan): Dont take it in the presence or risk factors for coronary artery disease; uncontrolled hypertension; basilar or hemiplegic migraines; if the BP is well controlled then it is possibly ok to try it if your doctors agrees.

Yes: Imitrex (sumatriptan) is certainly an option if you are really suffering a migraine. Otc nsaids are a great option too.
