Perhaps: Prolactin can have a disruptive effect on the hormones of the anterior pituitary (lh, fsh, gh, tsh). This can cause irregular periods. Although certainly not the most prominent effect of elevated prolactin, it could conveably make labs appear "in range" when they are not truly optimal.
