A member asked:

What is the corilation between the function of the thyroid and prolactin? if your prolactin is elevated does your thyroid not function fully?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypothyroidism->PRL: Primary hypothyroidism (a deficiency of the thyroid itself) leads to the hypothalamus producing trh (thyroid releasing hormone) to stimulate the pituitary to stimulate the thyroid to produce more hormone. Trh also leads to the production of prolactin, and can elevate prolactin levels slightly.
