Yes at the hospital: A true molar pregnancy may be life threatening to the patient and has to be done under strict hospital protocol. Also it is important to have proper follow up and depending on what kind of molar pregnancy blood work on a regular basis.

Removal: A molar pregnancy is always removed. It is not an abortion since in a complete molar pregnancy there is no embryo and in partial molar pregnancies the embryo has 69 chromosomes, instead of 46, making the embryo non-viable. Usually molar pregnancies are removed by performing a dilatation and curettage of the uterine wall.
