A member asked:

My daughter has had a runny nose for months , and is now having a congested cough, she woke upthis morning with her eye crusted , what could this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Runny nose, cough: This time of year allergies are the most common culprit. Allergies can present as a clear runny nose that comes and goes, watery itchy eyes, wet sounding cough and crusty eyes in a child who has no fever and is still eating and active. There are many good antihistamines on the market. Check with your physician to see which is recommended for her.
