My daughter chanri is 2 years and 4 months. she has been having a runny nose for about 2 weeks i give xyzol, creche gaurd and scotts emulsion everyday. on friday dischem gave me dimetapp to stop her runny nose. she now has a bad cough?

Basics: Studies more than a decade ago found cough/cold preparations given to kids do little more than give you something to do. The frequency of ER visits from overdoses led to the end of their use in pre-school kids. Recent data confirms a teaspoon of honey is more effective for cough. Kids wit illness for weeks should be evaluated.
