See a specialist: If you are receiving conflicting results, it may be time to see a specialist. Pulmonary hypertension is unusual in this age group, particularly in the absence of other predisposing conditions. There are specialists in pediatric pulmonary hypertension who could help give you a definitive answer.

More testing: Right ventricular hypertrophy may indicate that the right side of the heart pumping against a resistance due to elevated pressure. If he has symptoms related to lung disease a ct scan of the thorax may be performed. In addition, a right heart catheterization at a pediatric cardiology center will provide more definitive information about the possible diagnosis of pulmonary htn.
