Try motrin: During your period the uterine muscle contracts periodically and releases various substances, which can be painful. If you do not have any medical problems or allergies to ibuprofen, try Motrin 600 mg (can take every 6 hours) during your period. Talk to your doctor about how other hormonal options may help with the pain. Finally at your age, you may also have fibroids, and you may need a sonogram.
