A check list!: Pardon the irreverence! there is a list of behaviors and/or thought patterns (examples: organize pantry cans by height; always worry if the stove is off). If you have a certain number, you have oc traits; more, oc personality; more, ocd. This is simplified. The thresholds are a bit arbitrary but represent a serious research effort. The real question is, does your list hurt more than help?

Too focused: Sometimes we just can't win! either we are too focused or not focused enough! those labels are out there ready to grab us. If you find yourself caught up in a cycle of thinking about something over and over, trying to figure it out, lining up pencils so the points all match, redoing to make "it" perfect, all telltale symptoms. Of course, a little ocd might be useful, if you are doing detailed work.
