Generally: With controlled substances u can only get 30 days at a time but it may vary by state.

Zolpidem: I try not to prescribe long-term zolpidem as it was designed for short-term use and one might build a tolerance. Many prescribers would limit the amount of a controlled substance such as zolpidem that is ordered at one time.
