Depends: If your pain is getting worse or changed to completely different type you should talk to your pain specialist. The treatment may require several epidural injections and partial pain resolution is not uncommon. Your pain physician will advice you on further options: pain medication, physical therapy, more injections, consult with neurosurgeon.

No: In general epidural steroid injections are given in multiples of three. They maybe spaced out from anywhere over a month or two months. If the first one only gives partial relief or no relief a second one will be attempted. If no relief is found then that is it. If a little more relief is obtained one more will be attempted. Either way the pain relief may take a few days to a week to show.
