Sharp Dissection: If dissection needs to be done it should be excised by a physician and the remaining skin brought together with either a bandage or suture depending on the size of the lesion. This also after trying less invasive therapies of course.

Possibly: Since warts are epidermal lesions, any treatment should be restricted to that level. Penetrating the dermis by any means creates scarring which could be painful post-treatment. While i treat most warts with canthradine, I do occasionally bluntly remove them under local anesthesia and gently treat the base with a co2 laser to prevent reoccurrence. These heal without suturing.

Yes, but: I have found that using a co2 laser with blunt dissection has a lower recurrence rate. My technique uses the laser to make an incision around the wart. It is then bluntly excised. I then look at the wound with loupes and laser any remaining wart tissue. Without magnification much is not seen.

Lots of ways: You can use the liquid nitrogen, liquid nitrous oxide (this is what i like to use), topical acids, dermal scraping. You can also try oral cimetadine (400 mg three times a day for 12-16 weeks). This is very safe and had the side effect of getting rid of warts for many people of adult size and weight (japma november 1, 1995 vol. 85 no. 11 717-718 ). For excisions, I use radiowave surgery.

No self-surgery!: You can try over the counter wart removers, but be careful: i've seen them do more harm than good. Other options your doctor might offer include cryotherapy (freezing the wart), electrocautery (burning the wart), laser treatment, or several different topical chemical treatments. If the treatment is typically uncomfortable, your doctor can numb the area before proceeding. Don't go after it yourself.
