I have costochondritus and advil never helps which seems so odd since every doctor says that is best treatment. aleve (naproxen) helps tiny but not much, why?

See below.: Costochondritis often responds to nonsteroidal antiinflammatory meds but.. Which one? There are several classes and not every one responds the same. Sometimes you have to try several to get the right one. Also must take the right amount for the right amount of time. With aleve (naproxen) should take 440 mg twice a day every day for about 10-14 days in order to see good relief.

It never works: Even though doctors always suggest advil (ibuprofen) or a similar med i agree with you. As a rheumatologist I have found agents such as gabapenton to be much more effective.
