Are you allowed in er for being suicidal?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Yes.: The er can be one of the best places to get immediate support for suicidal thoughts and feelings that are at risk for being acted upon. After an assessment by mental health professionals on staff, the patient can then be connected with more specialized community resources for additional safety and support.
