A member asked:

Could bipolar disorder be affecting my bowel movements?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Indirectly, yes: Bipolar disorder is the cause of chemical imbalance in the brain, so there may be times of inadequate serotonin. This can cause constipation. Also some medications used to treat bipolar can cause changes in bowel movements.
