Yes: There are many connections between the stomach and the brain tha twe really don't understand yet. Several anxiety conditions can cause abdominal bloating and other abdominal symptoms. There is even a "brain" in the intestines, which is a complex set of neurons that respond to environmental triggers. If you feel better from applying pressure to your stomach, then go for it.
