Is it possible to cut yourself on your arm really deep and not need stitches?

Yes: If a laceration is 'deep' into the underlying tissue, but the length of the wound is very short (like a puncture), there may not be a reason to suture the overlying skin...A topical bandage may suffice. The wound should be examined for damage to underlying tussues.
