Interesting, but no: It's hard to imagine a situation whereby general anesthesia, without the right doctors and instruments, would be useful. Ether could be used but it would be dangerous. In the old days of ether anesthesia, 1 patient in 10, 000 anesthetics died. Now, with modern anesthetics and instruments, less than 1 patient in over 200, 000 anesthetics die from anesthesia-related problems.
