Can untrained person do any harm on doing cpr as a first aid when there is an emergency situation?

Yes: If someone does not know how to do CPR, they can injure a person who does not need CPR. Alternately their lack of skill may not be effective in helping a person who needs it. Best to study up and be prepared prior to the event.
