A member asked:

What is the procedure for the removal of the word catheter e.g. local anaesthetic/ any pain etc.? and is there anything that can aid the discomfort of the catheter when sitting/ walking/ mobile?

AWordAboutTheWard: They just remove the water from the balloon and it comes right out. Actually, a lot of them fall out on their own. And actually again, most women find them uncomfortable and a big hassle. If you ever need one of those little irritators again just request some gauze packing (softer and more malleable). You can pull that out on your own if you want. Alternatively, go back and express your displeasure
