This is common: Following the removal of wisdom teeth there is some swelling. This is the body's response to the extraction and its mobilization of the necessary repair materials to help you heal. Swelling should last about 2-2 1/2 weeks.

Consult surgeon: Facial swelling after third molar surgery is common and expected. If the swelling persists for more than a week, there may be an associated post-op infection. Consult with the treating surgeon. Meanwhile, hot saline (salt in how water-swish and expectorate) will help some.
