A member asked:

Is it true that cord blood after having a baby would be helpful for a child with a plastic anemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible...: Cord blood transplants are currently being evaluated in clinical trials as a curative treatment for those with aplastic anemia. There is not a lot of data using related cord blood transplants (cord blood from unaffected sibling), most of it has been using unrelated from cord blood banks.
