Hormone: The pregnancy test commonly referred to as HCG is actually a measure of the beta subunit of the HCG molecule, so you may hear it referred to as beta hcg, hcg, or beta and they are the same test. I think you may be mistaken on the second test-- the result seems more consistent with a Progesterone level.
