Most people recognize gerd, and LPR (laryngopharyngeal reflux) is a variant of the diagnosis in which the reflux extends up the entire length of the esophagus and spills over in to the larynx and vocal cords. It can produce sore throat, hoarseness of voice, cough and wheezing. It is managed like gerd with aggressive acid suppressive therapies, diet and lifestyle mod.
