Needs evaluation: Nephrologists are "fluid experts" specializing in areas you mentioned. Diuretics often cause thirst, but rarely to this degree. Could be another underlying cause, and needs expert evaluation to rule out other disorders associated with excessive fluid intake and thirst. Answer may be simple, but often more complex than stopping diuretic.

Why on lasix (furosemide)?: You should ask your doctor why you are on lasix (furosemide). Your body is obviously tellin you that you need fluid. Further if or are drinking that much water daily, then i think you should also discuss this with your doctor as their may be an underlying cause for your excessive thirst.
