I 've had a cough for the last 3 months, on and off. \\ don't have asthma or emphesema did have edema, am on lasix (furosemide) or a water pill 40 mg.

Determine cause: Chronic cough is most commonly due to 3 conditions: asthma, post-nasal drip, or GERD (heartburn). You might have one or a combination of all three. Post-viral cough is also very common and can last for weeks. Further workup by Allergist is helpful as they can perform a more detailed assessment including skin testing, pulmonary function testing, and.chest x-ray. Treatment will depend on cause.
