Sure, but...: Tattoos are a way of covering or revising scars. However, they are permanent essentially (lasers can remove, but consider one there for rest of your life). So choose wisely! will you still like it when you are older. Also, if you have a tendency to have a hypertrophic reaction after surgery, you may have a similar response to the trauma of a tattoo.

Why not?: Tattoo performed expertly can help to camouflage a scar. One consideration is waiting long enough after surgery. Proceeding too soon can interfere with healing from the surgery and the pigment may be removed by the normal scar healing process. It would be best to wait at least 6-12 months after surgery and consult with your plastic surgeon before proceeding.
