Fine: Overall they are fine, helpful for women who suffer from recurrent yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis, but check with your doctor to see if there there are other considerations.

Avoid: Personally i tell all my patients to avoid using any vaginal gels, suppositories, or douches unless prescribed. When left alone, the vagina does an excellent job at taking care of itself. Any additional products run the risk of washing out good bacteria, upsetting the pH (acid level), and causing things like bacterial vagnosis or yeast infections.

Good for BV: Rephresh is a great over the counter product for patients with recurrent bacterial vaginisis or recurrent yeast infections. It stabilizes the pH balance of the vagina and helps prevent these from coming back. It's not effective in treating these infections once they occur though.
