May not be.: Bruits, noise, over a blood vessel, has several causes. A common one is plaque build up and narrowing that produces turbulent flow and noise. The presence of plaque anywhere is a sign of atherosclerosis. Ischemic heart disease is related to coronary plaque buildup.
