Spinal fluid leak: If fluid is leaking through the skin, i usually recommend wound exploration and closure of the leak. This may require hospitalization for two to three days. If the leak is contained, bed rest and fluids will resolve most symptoms in one to two weeks. Hospitalization is usually reserved for persistent headache and dehydration requiring IV fluids.
